B) Data we collect automatically
When you use our website, we may collect limited technical data such as device and browser information. We use this to keep the site secure and improve performance.
3. Children's data
Ridebook's services may relate to school transport, but this website is intended for adults (parents/guardians and operators).
Please do not submit sensitive information about a child (such as medical details). If you include a child's name in free-text notes, that information may be stored along with your request.
4. Why we use your data (purposes)
We use your personal data to:
- Receive and process your quote requests
- Contact you about your request and early access (e.g., by email/phone)
- Improve the website and user experience
- Prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent activity
5. Our lawful bases (GDPR)
We process personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Consent: when you submit a form and agree to be contacted

- Pre-contractual steps: when you request information that may lead to a service relationship
6. How we store your data
For this early-access landing page, submissions are stored in secure infrastructure for the purpose of handling requests and tracking interest. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data.
We do not intentionally collect special category data (sensitive data). Please avoid sharing sensitive information in the “notes” field.
7. How long we keep your data (retention)
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.
Typical retention for early-access submissions:
- Quote submissions: up to 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them
- Security logs/rate-limiting data: short periods (e.g., hours to weeks)
You can request deletion at any time (see Section 10).
8. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share your data with:
- Service providers that help us run the website (hosting, database, analytics, email delivery), acting as processors under contract

We will only share request details with transport operators when necessary and in line with the product experience.
9. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Ireland/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.
10. Your rights (GDPR)
Depending on your location (and especially if you are in the EEA/UK), you may have the right to:
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
To exercise your rights, email contact@ridebook.ie. We may ask for information to verify your identity.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Ireland, this is the Data Protection Commission (DPC).
11. Cookies
We may use essential cookies required for the site to function. We may also use optional analytics cookies to understand site usage. If we use non-essential cookies, we will provide a cookie notice/controls as required.
12. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data, including access controls and secure storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
